Hi Viking Community!
We’re excited to share that Art Masters is back at Harbor View! Thanks to the support of our PFO, this wonderful program continues to enrich our students’ education with dedicated art instruction that goes beyond the standard curriculum.
Through Art Masters, students attend a lecture to learn about a master artist and then dive into a hands-on lesson to explore the artist’s technique.
This year, students will study the work of Charles Sheeler, Joan Miró, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Andrew Wyeth, and Piet Mondrian. We’re also thrilled to welcome a new art teacher, Mrs. Williams, who will guide the lessons.
Art Masters is a fun and easy way to be involved in your student’s classroom. Each class needs a few volunteers (click for volunteer clearance application) to assist Mrs. Williams and the students. Lessons are one hour long.
Volunteer duties include:
- Passing out and collecting materials
- Supporting students as they practice new techniques
- Assisting Mrs. Williams during lessons
- Helping transfer the art cart to the next classroom
To sign up to volunteer, click the desired lesson link below, find your student’s teacher, and select “sign up” to take a slot.
Please note the date and time as lessons span four days—and sign up early, as spaces do fill quickly!
Thank you for helping us bring art alive for our students!
